Been working on a large fir that has outgrown its space in Uddingston. Many of you may recognise this tree as its a prominent landmark in the town.
Unfortunately the tree has severe needle drop, probably caused by the council placing a salt bunker right next to it. The tree has also grown into all three of the BT lines which means we have to take our time.
This tree was a Christmas tree that was planted 60 years ago, and has put on a foot of growth every year of its life. The clients are going to plant the borders with cherry trees to make sure they replace the leaf coverage lost by the removal of the tree.
Sad to see it go but its always nice to be asked to work on such a tree in our home town
